Although she pursued a career in landscape architecture after college at The University of Georgia, Gena Knox’s passion for food stayed with her and she became intrigued with the process of plank grilling. She began to make her own planks, which developed into a new career in September 2003 when Knox founded Fire & Flavor with her husband. The company soon grew to offer a complete line of gourmet grilling products.
