In this filmed adaption of the long-running musical, we see the story of Joseph, son of Jacob. The favoured son, he is betrayed by his jealous brothers and sold into slavery and driven to Egypt. Though beset with adversity, Joseph perseveres through wit and faith and becomes the governor of Egypt, second only to the Pharaoh. This all the sets the scene for when he meets his brothers who have come to Egypt to purchase food.

The B-52s (styled as The B-52’s prior to 2008) are an American new wave band, formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. Drawing from retro 1950s and ‘60s pop sources, trash culture, and rock and roll, the group evidenced a “thrift shop” aesthetic. The “guy vs. gals” vocals of Schneider, Pierson, and Wilson, sometimes used in call and response style, and their unique guitar and keyboard driven instrumentation compose their trademark sound. The band is best known for their 1978 debut single “Rock Lobster”, and their pair of 1989 hits; “Love Shack” and “Roam”.

A typically excellent performance by Yanni and his amazing crew of musicians. I always enjoy Yanni, and this show was wonderful.

Live at El Morro, Puerto Rico was filmed during Yanni’s two concerts in December 2011. The first artist to ever perform at this UNESCO Heritage Site, Yanni fulfilled a 20 year dream to play at the beautiful and historic 16th -century Castillo San Felipe Del Morro in San Juan-a spectacular setting for this live concert. For two sold-out audiences, Yanni and his world-renowned orchestra performed an inspired set of favorites from throughout his career including “Felista,” “Voyage,” “Nightingale,” “The End of August,” and more.

The set documents the 1994 Division Bell tour and was filmed at London’s Earls Court during a record-breaking 14-night residency. The two-disc release contains the full concert performance with rare backstage footage and previously unseen extras making the collection a must-have for Pink Floyd fans. Disc 2 features a live filmed performance of Pink Floyd–David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright – performing the group’s towering masterpiece, The Dark Side of the Moon, in its glorious entirety during the second half of the Division Bell concert. Included on disc 1 are “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2),” “High Hopes,” and “Learning to Fly” as well as never-before-seen rarities such as Bootlegging the Bootleggers and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of life on the road with one of the world’s biggest and most influential rock bands. Mixed in mind-expanding 5.1 surround sound and digitally re-mastered by James Guthrie, the Pulse DVD includes some of original screen films used for the 1970s concert performances of The Dark Side of the Moon as well as the visual components for the piece which were remade for the 1994 tour.
